New Year's Resolution (Better Late Than Never)

I don't usually make resolutions for the new year, but I decided to go out on a limb.  Of course I could resolve to eat healthier and go to the gym, but let's be honest.  I'd rather not swap my Chipotle for vegetables and I'm not getting a gym membership anytime soon.

I tried to think about something I'd actually want to do.  When it was all said and done, I resolved to be more eventful.  Mostly as a family.  I feel so much more energized throughout the day when I have something to look forward to.  Even something small.  Life goes by in a blink of an eye and I want to savor all of the moments.  If I plan things ahead and make even the smallest things seem special, I feel like I'll be more present.  Rather than going about my day, not really soaking up what's going on.

Whether it's planning to get sushi take out for dinner, planning a family walk around the neighborhood, trying out a new frozen yogurt shop, planning a Homeland date in the basement, spending a day at the zoo or planning to drink chai tea and read a book in my comfy bedroom chair, I'm going to try to soak up the little moments.  I want to make even the smallest things seem special.

Side note:  Tonight will be seriously E-VENT-FUL.  Notre Dame's in the National Championship!  Woot woot! Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame!  You can find us in the basement wearing our Irish gear, eating Irish food, and enjoying Irish beverages.  By the time the game starts, Charley will be having Irish dreams, so she'll sport her new Notre Dame track outfit during the day.

So tell me, what kinds of things are you resolving for 2013? Pin It
