I love going into Anthropologie to, well shop, but also to get inspiration for DIY projects. Their displays are always so fun and creative. Last time I was there they had a table filled with their amazing candles and some were tied with fabric scraps. I have a drawer overflowing with leftover fabric so I knew I would end up creating my own version of this at home.
I found a mercury glass jar candle at T.J. Maxx for four dollars (a steal compared to Anthropologie's $25 price tag). It definitely doesn't smell as amazing, but that's okay, I was just going for the look. I tore a couple strips of fabric and simply tied them around the rim of the jar. Easy peasy.
My new candle now lives in our family room next to a lamp and Charley's newborn photo book.
Let's just get a better look at her sweet face on the cover while we're at it, shall we?
