I'm striving for a collected over time feel when it comes to home decor and I think our Ikea chests of drawers say otherwise. I am not one for things being too matchy matchy and although our bed is from West Elm, these chests match it perfectly. I contimplated getting rid of the chests and replacing them with mismatched bed side tables but we really need B.J. really needs the drawer space. Since replacing them was not an option, I decided to give them a little personality by adding some knobs. I knew I wanted something unique so I went to Anthropologie in search of some sort of mixed metal knob with a vintage feel.
I was so happy when I found these little gems. The color and shape were just what I was looking for so I came home with two. Anthropologie can be pricey ($14 each) so I decided I would only use these on the top drawers and then head to Lowes or Home Depot to find less expensive knobs for the bottom two drawers. I ended up finding simple, round, aged gold knobs for $2 each at Lowes.
I began by measuring the drawer to find the center and I drilled a hole. I chose which drill bit to use by looking at the size of the knob hardware, very technical, right? Not so much, but luckily my system worked because the hole was just the right size. Once the holes were drilled I just screwed the knobs in and the job was done. Pretty quick and easy!
